Please RSVP to Lynne Weber if you are interested!
Pay no attention to those flakes in the air!!
Yes, some parts of Minnesota are supposed to receive snow this evening...but the temperatures are supposed to be back to "normal" by next week. The long range forecasts gives temps in the 50s. But, this is Minnesota, and the weather is often fickle! It's safest to plan on layers - and a light jacket. And an umbrella, just in case :)
Here's a link to local weather.
Please note - The hotel room block has been exhausted and the hotel is completely sold out. However, cancellations do occur, so rooms may become available. A list of additional hotel options is listed on the "Hotel" tab of the webpage. We apologize for this inconvenience!
A tour of Orchestra Hall (home of the Minnesota Orchestra) is tentatively slated to follow the last program session on Saturday morning! Our final speaker of the session will be Paul Gunther, Principal Librarian, Minnesota Orchestra. He's graciously offered us a tour as well as a presentation, and we are working out the final details!
Dear Midwest Chapter Folks –
Our 2014 meeting in Minneapolis promises to be a great one! The Local Arrangements and Program Committee members have been hard at work to ensure that the meeting will be relevant, informative, fun, and affordable! Dates for the meeting are: October 9-11, 2014.
For those who may need help with travel costs, the Chapter offers two scholarships:
The Leslie Troutman Scholarship provides support for attendance at chapter meetings by staff and paraprofessionals working in music libraries or with music collections in libraries in the Midwest Chapter region.
The Phyllis J. Schoonover Scholarship for Student Members provides support for attendance at chapter meetings by students who are enrolled in a library school in the Midwest Chapter region.
Additional information and application forms are available from;
The deadline for 2014 applications is AUGUST 22, 2014! Don’t wait – apply now!
Looking forward to seeing you all in Minneapolis!
